Client Services
We provide a wide range of services, geared towards clients' needs and based on a holistic model that encourages survivors to find their best path to healing. We strive to serve all clients professionally and efficiently.
24/7 Crisis Hotline
Twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, the PRCC crisis hotline provides support and information to victims of sexual assault, their families and friends. The crisis line is supported by trained volunteer advocates and staff. Crisis Hotline: 770.586.5423
Forensic Exam Accompaniment
In the state of Georgia, adult victims have the option of a free forensic exam (rape exam), whether they desire law enforcement involvement (an investigation) or not.
Trained PRCC staff and volunteer advocates offer exam options, assist in organizing exams, access to forensic exams in the Piedmont Judicial Circuit, and accompany victims to the hospital to offer support and information during the forensic exam process. Exams are preformed by SANE's (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner), which are trained, certified nurses who collect evidence during a forensic exam (rape kit).
Exam Access
We are trained to offer exam options, as well as assisting adults in organizing and having access to a forensic exam in the Piedmont Judicial Circuit. Exams are performed by SANE’s (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) who are trained, certified nurses who collect evidence during a forensic exam (rape kit).
Legal Advocacy
We can offer support and accompaniment to victims throughout the legal process including police interviews, appointments with the Assistant District Attorney, and court hearings.
Information, Resources, & Referrals
Our organization can provide information, resources and referrals to primary and secondary victims, which can help educate, support and further assist in the healing process.
Follow-Up Services
Follow up services consist of phone calls to the client or the client’s guardian, referrals to local health departments for post assault care, individual or group therapeutic services, and any other resources provided to the client. The staff/advocate will periodically call or write a client to check up on their needs and/or healing process.
Therapeutic Counseling Assistance
Therapeutic counseling with a licensed therapist can be an integral part of helping victims of sexual violence heal. When funding is available, PRCC can assist with therapeutic counseling sessions by referring clients to a licensed therapist who specializes in sexual trauma.
Crime Victims Compensation Assistance
The Crime Victims Compensation Program (CVCP) was primarily established to provide financial assistance to victims of violent crime and to encourage victims to participate in the criminal justice system. Eligible program applicants can receive compensation for up to $25,000 to help with medical and dental care, mental health counseling, economical support, crime scene sanitation, and funeral expenses when costs are not covered by other sources. CVCP is a program of the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council. For more information or to apply online go to crimevictimscomp.ga.gov. PPCC staff can also assist with the application process.
